Case Details

The company as part of a leading airline company was initially responsible for managing aircraft for parent organization. In year 2006, it is created as separate entity and brought its legacy systems based on Lotus Notes and manual processes in inheritance. As the business has grown, an old system was not able to cope with changing needs of Airline Company and its modern fleet of aircraft.

Company required a standard platform which can be operated both in PC and hand held devices used by her employees and contractors.

System is also required to integrate with existing systems of various aircraft manufacturers and Airline Company at various points. Desktop applications were out of question as it needs different versions to run on different devices and migration from lotus notes was also a question.

Achievement

We offered MOSS 2007 based solution for 11 existing, plus 3 new systems to the client which can run in browser and many of the standard features like search, security, content management.

Advantage

The Solution enables to enhance the migration with more features to 11 existing systems of client and that enabled them to reduce data duplication and faster data tracking. Security of the system enhanced and that resulted to compliance with security norms set by various airline and airline regulatory authorities. Capabilities of SharePoint solved the issue of hand held device interface as they can use browser to invoke SharePoint system over wireless network. Apart from 11 existing system, a solution offered three new systems which has enhanced and organized the operation in back office for support and material tracking. SharePoint enabled a intranet for employees which made communication across the organization more structured and easy.

Windows service program with facility to configure features enable reminder features on various areas and custom email notifications which has enhanced overall system flow and user experience.
